Fun Stuff!

I am living such a happy time in my life and feel so blessed.
I am surrounded by beautiful things and people!

When I saw Penny a couple of weeks ago she gave me this lovely pillow filled with lavender!
Visit Lavender Hill Studio to find all the beautiful things she has to offer!

Oh.....it smells amazing and I love the vintage fabric and soft ribbon.

( If I made a list like Oprah, I would say it is one of my favorite things! Maybe I should do that! )

And I received a few things that I won from the One World One Heart event .

This lovely heart was designed by Vanessa...visit Vanessa's blog to see all of her amazing creations!
I think I've worn it every day since it came!

I am modeling! lol

This amazing Silk Broach is from Shibori Girl !

She fashioned it from hand dyed silk and it is truly a work of art!

Don't look at me in this photo...my hubby is in a hurry and I gave him a funny look!
( his look was.....LET'S GO!!! heehee! I won't post that! lol)

It's so nice to have a lovely fragrant pillow and new jewelry to wear
and a silk broach to brighten up a black sweater.

I love pretty things and want to THANK all of my friends
that care enough to make me feel special!

Have a wonderful week blogger friends!

Followers!

I am always learning something new!

Danette was so sweet to write and ask me about becoming a 'follower'!

But I didn't really know how to go about doing that
so I went to Blogger HELP and added a gadget!

AND GUESS WHAT! I had followers!

I feel so special!

I hope everyone that comes to my blog will become a 'follower'!

You can follow me....and I'll follow you...and we'll be going places! heehee!

My day has already had lots of wonderful moments!

We saw our grandson this morning and got LOTS of boy hugs!

AAhhhh.......boy hugs.....nothing better than that!

Have a HAPPY Wednesday!

"Wednesday Wee Ones"

Well....these kids are not so 'wee' and their bear is GIGANTIC!

I love my pretty Annette Himstedt girls!

And they love their big bear friend!

Can I sit in your lap, Ginni wondered?

Do you want to know a secret, Sadie asked?

Do you promise not to tell, whispered Julika ?

Will you read us a book?

Have a wonderful Wednesday and remember.....

ALWAYS take time to PLAY,
says Ginni!!!

Guess what these are....

When I found them at my favorite consignment store, New Visions
( the one Penny and I went to a couple of weeks ago ),
I had NO idea what they were either!

But they looked like they would OPEN!

So I gave a little tug.....

and the snaps came open .........

And I found out they were not only CUTE....

but practical!

They are sewing kits....travel size!

I was SO thrilled to find them and will treasure them!

Considering the metal scissors and other details, they must be quite old.

And they came at a perfect time for me to be inspired. I have been sewing up a storm.

I've heard different amounts of time mentioned for creating a new habit.
At the first of the year, I decided I would try to sew or craft some every day.
I tend to want to get my work done before I 'play' but I decided I was never
going to get far enough ahead. And instead of working at a project ALL day
until it is finished, I would spend some time EVERY day creating.

So far this year, I've made several things and feel very pleased.
This week, I've made pincushions. I have been determined to make a perfect apple...
but I still haven't perfected that! lol
But here are some that are finished......

And if you have a LOT of pins.......heehee!

This was the easiest one and turned out to be one of the cutest!

(Made from vintage fabric that was my Grandmother's!)

Create a new habit.......
spend some time everyday creating!

Do you know what these are?

They are old.......and colorful....and small!

Do you know what they are?

I've got some other things to post tomorrow so I will give the answer then.

This one is 3 inches tall.

This one is 2 1/2 inches tall.

It's cold and windy here today...a perfect day for arts and crafts!
I'm busy in the hobby room! BYE!!!

Hope everyone's having a good Sunday!

Don't you LOVE to try something NEW?

I've heard of this....seen it on the menu.......

read about them....seen people in the movies enjoying some.....

but I have NEVER baked a Quiche....and it's something I've never tasted!

But when I went to one of my favorite blogs....A Fanciful Twist

and saw step by step instructions on how to make one...

I just had to try!

I used grilled chicken, broccoli, mushrooms

and a wonderful blend of cheeses in mine

and it was DELICIOUS!

Perfect with a glass of Shiraz-Grenache!

I hope you'll try her recipe for Quiche and while you're there,
follow her 'Study in being a real Princess'.
It is delightful....as only she can be!

Unfortunately....

How about a little diversion? I got this from Jenny on allsorts blog!

Here's how to play... just do a Google search of the phrase "unfortunately, _______"
but put your first name in the blank (be sure to enclose it all in quotation marks).
The resultant phrases are hilarious if you have a slightly twisted sense of humor
and an appreciation for random absurdity.

Some examples...

Unfortunately, Diane (The Cake Lady), has retired.

Unfortunately Diane didn’t have the strength to take on a troubled teenager...

Unfortunately, Diane could not easily use the new gadgets...

Unfortunately, Diane was the one sent home that week...

Unfortunately, Diane who is estimated to be 13 years of age...

(this one may be a 'dated entry'! lol)

Unfortunately, Diane spent so much time trying to figure out how she could win the vote that she never thought of how to keep Jase....

Unfortunately, Diane and Whitney will have to make a major sacrifice: "Temporarily stop private school [for the kids] until debt is eliminated.... (KIDS in school? OH MY! )

Unfortunately, Diane returned to find Andy seriously involved with Faren Conner. Diane pursued Andy in hopes of re-igniting the love they once had. ...

Unfortunately, Diane did not get her wish. (BOOHOO!!)

Unfortunately, Diane isn't a credible character -- she is sketchily developed, and this led to a profound lack of interest on my part about her fate once ...

Unfortunately, Diane is no longer breeding - but her lines live onward - as we have her last breeding cats with us. (not sure I should have included this one! ROFL!)

Unfortunately, Diane knows NOTHING about CSS, so her education on the subject begins!

Unfortunately Diane tasted defeat for the first time in her short career when competing in the overall Masters

When I spoke to this lady she told me that unfortunately Diane was wrong...

Unfortunately, Diane has a prior engagement and is no longer able to play....

THIS GAME!

BYE! I am all of a sudden feeling very depressed.......HEEHEEHEEHEEHEE!

Thanks Jenny for the FUN!

My hubby and I both 'played' and had some good laughs (and we needed some today! )

More Kitchen FUN!

It's so much fun shopping for our condo...it's like 'playing house'!

( I KNOW I need something above the sink but I'm not sure WHAT! )

We found the perfect Cuisinart Coffee pot...it grinds coffee beans and brews
.

We thought it would be a challenge to find the right color RED for our new kitchen
but these bowls are the same tone, just a little darker.
We actually looked at Fiesta Ware and it will match, too....
but how much RED do we need? heehee!

I picked up a little white cream pitcher, just because it was so pretty!

And how can you leave the Kitchen Store without at least one gadget!?

We spent the afternoon at the same shopping center but what great stores!

The Kitchen & Co.....A. C. Moore Crafts...Hancock's Fabrics...

and the Hallmark store were all we had time for!

"Wednesday Wee Ones...and Kitchen FUN"

We have been shopping for new kitchen items for our condo!
My hubby actually LOVES to shop at the kitchen store even more than I do!
When we go to Myrtle Beach, he always spends time buying gadgets
and spices at the big stores there.
He even went online and bought spices and he COOKS!
I know.......I am SO lucky!

(and he's making his famous chili tonight! YAY!)

One day he even picked up something for Wendy at the kitchen store!

Is this FUNNY...well she is still crying so I guess not! heehee!

And awhile back I was reading a blog about putting together a nice pantry
and having measuring cups for both dry and wet ingredients
and I thought this was a great idea!
I've bought 2 new sets of measuring cups but now I've forgotten who gave me that tip!
I hope they read this and come forward so that I can link to their blog!

I made cornbread to go with the chili..........here's the recipe!

And of course, it's better baked in a cast iron skillet in a HOT oven and browned on top!

Happy Wednesday!
Take time to PLAY!

Do you have your grocery list made out?

Did you forget anything?

Are you out of bluing?

Did you need some lard for that special recipe?

Matches....Gelatine.....Wax....Starch?

I love this old list but it's missing something at the bottom.
Does anyone know what went there originally?

And I wanted to show you the Tea Towels I bought for my sister at Tuesday Mornings.

Aren't they cute?

I've made two of their recipes this past week and wanted to share!

Here are the Lemon Basil Carrots!

They were delicious! So lemony and buttery!

And then my favorite recipe so far....

Chicken Pot Pie !!!

This was so good that I know it will be a favorite comfort food from now on!

They have incredible recipes and always show the best photos!

I would love to make ALL of their desserts and breads! lol

Here's a recipe for Apple Rolls that I plan to try next!

Thanks to all the amazing ladies at MGCC! I look forward to every recipe you post!

Where is Sunday?

I have these old tea towels but I don't have Sunday!

I wonder if I am not supposed to need a tea towel on Sunday....

or if there is a design I need to find to make one to complete my set!

Have a wonderful Sunday!
(and YES, I LOVE making collages! They are habit forming!)

"Happy Valentine's Day to MY sweetheart!"

Spring is in the air........

.....well, it was windy today and not nearly so cold.

And it made me think of pictures
I took of my precious, Kida last year.
She is made in Germany by the talented Annette Himstedt.
I am so pleased to have a few of her dolls. They have so much detail and life like qualities.

Well.........here she is in her original outfit!

She is dressed in a outfit that represents India.

And now she is in her Spring time dress........

Enjoy your day!
