“A Family Weekend”

A lot of you spend time with your families on the weekend. I have 4 grown sons and my husband has a son and a daughter. They are scattered all over the country so I thought I would go into some of my scanned photos and share some ‘family photos’ every weekend.

Here’s one of my favorites!

PMDouglasMomDwight0004

This is ME with my two youngest sons when they were teenagers. So that means it was taken over 20 years ago!

I loved that old building in Leadville, CO and thought it made a neat back drop for a family photo.

If you would like to get to know me better, keep coming back! I’ll post ‘old’ family photos every weekend.

Do you have all of your old photos scanned and saved? I still have a lot to work on. Sounds like a good winter time project for me!

Scanned and saved? No way! I have been taking old ones out and putting them in frames though. I love to look at my freckly face boys when they were little. :)

Great photo! And no, I don't have many photos scanned. I need to do that! Good reminder to those of us who procrastinate re. that sort of thing. :-)

What a fantastic photo. Thanks for sharing. We need to get our scanner fixed...actually we need to invest in a new printer/scanner/fax machine. I would love to take some of my childhood albums and get them scanned. Have a great weekend!

What a great photo and such a fun idea. When I get back home I'll have to go dig out some of mine too.

Great idea Diane! I enjoyed your photo, thanks for sharing with us, and I look forward to getting to know you better!
Part of what I really enjoy about my own blog is it's a great way to save and share family photos and memories.
Hugs!

Oh my heavens, no. I'm thinking of having a bonfire and burning them all. That's what my grandmother wished me to do with all her old photos, which she didn't even know all the people. She felt that was more honoring than to have them scattered in flea markets. I'm beginning to think so, too.

This is a great photo of you and your sons. Now why have I always thought of you as a blond?!

I love "old" photos, but have to admit, they make me sad now with Kelly gone. I do have a powder room adorn with old photos of my mother and father when they were growing up and that makes me smile!

We have scanned all of ours and have been scanning my in-laws as well.

So funny - they have the "hurry up & take the picture mom" look in their eyes. Leadville is such a cool town - so full of history.

Love that background. It makes a lovely picture. It's a beautiful picture of you and the boys. A picture to treasure for sure!

Hugs for you,

Great photo of you and your sons. I don't have many old photos because most of the ones of my kids when they were young were lost in a flood and the ones of my grandkids were taken by my daughter and then in turn by my granddaughter. I will be coming back here to enjoy yours. Have a wonderful weekend.

Our children are grown and gone as well. My husband keeps telling them we wanted them to move OUT NOT AWAY1 Oh well, children do what they need to do. It does make me sad sometimes. Holidays are the worst.

This a good idea to cheer yourself up

Thx for sharing

Ah, Leadville! I loved visiting that old town. Your sons look so cute by that old building. I am thinking I should probably scan more of my children's pics.

Diane, I love that picture! What a great idea and a motivator. I sadly do not have mine scanned. I kind of do it as needed. Lots of slides to be dealt with at some point! Fun! Ann

What a great picture of you and two of your sons. Yep, I love that back drop. I should do it...just scan them all, but then I'd be MIA for the next year. A little at a time would be a great idea.
